The Flagship killer: Oneplus 5
After having an absolute stunning performance flagship (Oneplus3T) ,One plus have now come up with 2017 flagship killer smartphone that defeats Samsung's latest flagship- Samsung S8 plus on multi-core performance. I wasn't really a big fan of Oneplus; but after watching videos on Youtube of Oneplus 3T ,I was astonished to see this 399$ phone staying on top with 700$+ phones like Google pixel, IPhone 7,Samsung S7.
Price
The OnePlus 5 was prematurely listed on a Chinese retailer’s web site. In doing so, it revealed a lot about the handset including the price.
Now, this is where things get a little convoluted as there are three prices, all in USD. To start with there was what appeared to be a Chinese model for $621.99. However, there’s also an international model, retailing for $688.00. Although there are rumors that the price will be $449.99, this reduced price is, apparently, for those who pre-order before the smartphone starts to ship.

Specifications:
Processor and RAM
The Oneplus 5 will have Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon MSM8998 835 chipset along with 6/8gb Ram. This processor is the same which is used in Samsung's S8 and S8 plus, MI 6 and Sony Xperia XZ premium. The 10nm Snapdragon 835 is even smaller than its predecessor, the 14nm Snapdragon 821. It is 35% smaller and uses 25% less power than previous designs, and is engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life, lifelike VR and AR experiences, cutting-edge camera capabilities and Gigabit Class download speeds.
Storage
The storage variants will be 64/128/256 gb. With 16gb and 32gb out of the radar, there won't be any storage issues. However, don’t be alarmed, a MicroSD card slot is also in place, meaning that expansion of storage is possible up to 256GB.
Display and Configuration
The OnePlus 5 flaunts a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels that results from a density of 441 pixels per inch. The capacitive touch screen is highly respondent to multi touch.
Battery
The Oneplus 5 phone will feature a 3600mAh battery.
For me, the OnePlus 3T which had 3400mAh could make it a day even under more intense usage. On a typical day I’d get to bed and there would be anywhere between 20-30% remaining. The fact that Oneplus 3T display wasn’t Quad HD no doubt helped with its battery performance. An hour of Netflix streaming with the display set to 60% brightness also only saw a drop of 9%, which was very good. Half an hour of Asphalt 8 took the battery down 7%. Compared to 4000mAh in low-budget phones like Redmi Note 3 and 4, Coolpad Note 5 etc. the Oneplus 3T gave a beast performance.
All thanks to the powerful optimization that gave this phone a top notch performance with long lasting battery. I hope to see better optimization this time for Oneplus 5.
Camera
Up until the early reveal, there was little if anything known officially about the OnePlus 5’s cameras. Many had speculated that a dual-lens setup would grace its design. However, if the information we’ve seen is accurate, that is not the case. Instead, it will have a 23-megapixel rear facing sensor, and a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie sensor. Both of which, will significantly increase the quality of images and video.
Launch date
OnePlus has started teasing its upcoming flagship -- OnePlus 5 on Weibo. The company earlier in the day shared a post via its official Weibo post which reads as follows: "Hey Summer! Give me five!" Along with the post, OnePlus also added an image which says: Hello 5.
"We expect the OnePlus 5 to be announced in June 2017, and to go on sale shortly after. The company doesn't stick to an annual release date schedule as do other phone makers, with the OnePlus One launched in April 2014, the OnePlus 2 in July 2015 and the OnePlus 3 in June 2016. The OnePlus 3T followed in November 2016.To be fair, the longest gap here is between the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2, during which time the fairly new company was struggling to keep up with demand and meet such unexpected popularity. Following the OnePlus 2 it has proved much more adept at churning out phones with the OnePlus X, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T." -TechAdvisor
